Wow, it has been a crazy week!
A cupcake consumed, crazy-a$$ week. There is no other way to put it. It is amazing to think that people are reading my little goof-ball blog. I love my blog. Sometimes I refer to it as my digital boyfriend...something to fill my time when men have been less than savory. ha ha ha.
I am starting to make friends all over the blog-o-sphere. East Coast, West Coast, and across the pond. I LOVE hearing from other cupcakers. It is a thrill every time there is mail in my in-box. But, there are 2 particular bits of correspondence that have occurred in the last 24 hours that I just can not help but share. I am flattered and thrilled that my silly little blog is gaining attention in the larger cupcake world.
First, I received a lovely letter from Alan Richardson, photographer and co-author of the upcoming book...Hello, Cupcake! (Watch for my review coming soon.)
The next crazy cupcake moment was earlier this evening when I received a note from the site producer for allrecipes.com. I KNEW those dark chocolate bacon cupcakes were awesome, and it appears that others would agree!

Subject: Hello from Hello, Cupcake!
Hello MKE Cupcake Queen,The even crazier thing is that his co-author, Karen Tack, is a Milwaukee native AND will be here for business later this week. After further correspondence, it appears that I may even be honored enough to have the opportunity to exchange cupcake notes and career war stories with her while she is in town. VERY FUN.
We have been looking in on your site for awhile and now we now have a cupcake site of our own. We would love to link to you and if you like what we are doing have you link to us also.
Take a look at www.hellocupcakebook.com or blog.hellocupcakebook.com
We are a cupcake designer and photographer team and we have a book coming out in April titled Hello, Cupcake! We plan to continue having contests and giving away books as well as some fun decorating challenges on the site.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Alan and Karen

Dear Milwaukee Cupcake Queen - We love your photo for the Dark Chocolate Bacon Cupcakes recipe! Would it be possible for you to resend it so we have an image available with a higher dpi resolution than what we use on the Allrecipes site? Unfortunately, we did not save your original image because user photos are now posted directly to the site.
Thank you, and bravo for your terrific blog! It's a lot of fun to read.
