Don't you just love the smell of BBQ on a bright sunny day? Pork, Brats, BBQ Beans, Corn on the Cob, Bacon, S'Mores... Yep, you guessed it. Around here, you know what I am talking about...cupcakes!
ICM:BBQ - Anne's Amazing BBQ Bacon Cupcake
It was exciting tonight. At Iron Cupcake:Milwaukee, we had our first outside baker join us. When I say outside, basically, someone who doesn't work for Fratello's or with me. Anne came, and girl brought her "A" game! I should have known we were in trouble when she showed up in her own chef's whites, charcoal and a grill!!!!

Anne brought a Bacon Infused Red Velvet cupcake with a absolutely drool-worthy Maple BBQ frosting. Mmmm, finger lickin' good!
Jeff and Brendan teamed up tonight to present the Fratello's BBQ Dinner Special. Gentlemen, talk about creativity! Brat shaped Cupcake with "Ketchup" and "Mustard" on a Phyllo Bun. Corn on the Cob shaped Cupcake with pat of "Butter". S'More's Cupcake on a stick.
As with any good BBQ, there was also a side of BBQ Baked Beans Cupcakes. Yum, this was so good...it had bacon, apple, honey, Jack Daniel's BBQ Sauce in the frosting.
Mine was Porky's Peachy BBQ Cupcake. Sweet Corn cake with Peachy BBQ Pork filling, topped with a Peach BBQ Cream Cheese frosting, grilled Peach garnish and a sprinkle of Turbinado Sugar. Plus, as a bonus...what would a BBQ be without a cold beer. Cheers!
With 22 votes tonight, it was great to see so many friends and staff come out to give all of the cupcakes a try. We issued JUDGE and BAKER stickers tonight and all parties involved were treated to drink specials, complements of Fratello's. Some of our voters tonight wereLeah and her boyfriend; Kristen, Sarah and Erica; Heidi and her sister Margo; Amy; others who made it were Tamara - yeah, our buddy from the Journal Sentinel; Matt and his folks; and of course, the huge gang that Anne brought along.

Any group that can do shots and cupcakes in the same breath...well, all I can say is welcome to the Iron Cupcake family!

Very impressive! I'm amazed at the creativity of all the Iron Cupcake bakers and can't wait till the Mexican challenge on Aug. 4th!
