As Jimmy Buffett sings…Wasting Away Again in Margaritaville. Out of 4 entries tonight, 3 of them were margarita/tequila focused. So, yes, it would seem that cupcake fans are also drinking fans! Olé! The ridiculous heat, humidity and rain did not keep the cupcake fans away, we still had 12 voters and 3 bakers. Not so bad!
Here's a rundown of tonights entries:
Brendan presented a duo of cupcakes featuring Spicy Bean Burrito Cupcake; a white cupcake with pinto beans, candied serrano peppers and a guacamole and sour cream frosting. His second cake was a Tequila Shooter Mini Cupcake; white cupcake with aged tequila and rums with tequila and candied lime frosting. Being that it was Brendan's night off, he was accompanied by his lovely wife Nicki...it was a pleasure to finally meet her!
Kaitlyn, one of our RDA food stylin’ goddesses and our newest IC baker created the Margarita Cupcake; white cake with margarita mix, tequila, orange juice and lime; topped with avocado-lime frosting (deeeelish).
My entry tonight was the Cuervo Gold Citrus Cupcake; a margarita-citrus cupcake infused with Cuervo Gold and Triplesec. I topped it off with sweet margarita-lime frosting, candied lime, course sugar and sea salt.
We had lots of great friends there tonight, visit my ICM flickr pool to see all the pix, but I wanted to do a shout-out to our newest IC friend, Katie. She works at Starbucks and read all about ICMilwaukee in the Journal Sentinel article!
Also, tonight we were without Chef Jeff; but fear not... Clarence popped out to taste and judge and we made sure to challenge him to join us on August 18th for challenge Vegan and/or Gluten Free!
The winner tonight was Kaitlyn, that is her, below, with her certificate. Congrats Girl! She received the coveted ICM certificate and a $25 gift card to Fratellos!
We are taking next week off, see everyone on the 18th!
