Our tummies were full and we all needed to loosen our belts after the Iron Cupcake:Milwaukee Thanksgiving Challenge. With nine different cupcakes and about 30 judges, the only thing missing was a nap in a recliner and a bowl game (although, a replay of the Food Network Cupcake Challenge was playing on the TV)
We were thrilled to have Josh return after a few challenges off. He DEFINITELY adds a great element to the challenge and tonight was no different. His Sweet Potato Casserole cupcake filled with Jellied Cranberry and topped with Toasted Marshmallow was a sweet treat reminiscent of your aunt's favorite side dish.
Liz brought a decadant Chocolate Pumpkin cupcake filled with Cranberry and topped with a Cranberry Buttercream. Her hand-piped chocolate turkey with the berry head was an adorable touch!
My first entry for the night was my warm Savory Stuffing cake filled with Jellied Cranberry, topped with Mashed Potatoes, drizzled Gravy and Corn sprinkle. I thought it was an awesome idea, and it was...until I found out that Jeff did nearly the same thing! His is to come later....
Jeff's first entry of the night was a Cranberry Cupcake with Cranberry Chutney topping. Sweet and Tangy. Yum!
Katie did a sweet Pumpkin Cupcake with a Cream Cheese Frosting and Tiny Fondant Thanksgiving Dinner on top! Adorable!
Brendan's tricky turkey was actually a Pumpkin Cheesecake with a Cranberry Cream Topping. Rich and delicious.
My second entry for the night was a doozy, combining all of the traditional Thanksgiving pies. Pumpkin Sweet Potato Cake with Pecan Pie Filling and a rich and decadent Pumpkin Cream Cheese Frosting. It was topped off with toasted Pecans and Tourbinado Sugar. I ranked third for this one.
Susie was back tonight with her Pumpkin Gingerbread Cupcake with colored Orange Glaze and Cinnamon Stick stem. She pulled second for this sweet treat.
FINALLY, our WINNER for tonight was Jeff and his Thanksgiving Dinner cupcake. Stuffing layered with Turkey, Mashed Potatoes and topped with the ever-classic Green Bean Casserole, complete with Deep Fried Onions. Just goes to show that ya add a can of cream of mushroom soup to ANYTHING, including a cupcake and you have yourself a winner! CONGRATS JEFF!

OH great Thanksgiving Recipes
Is Jeff's recipe for the sweet potato cupcake available? These look like a great solution to a mass feed we're planning!
Barbara - I'm not sure what recipe he used, but I've got one if you need it.
