Cake and Art is smack in the middle of West Hollywood and lives up to its neighborhood reputation! Rainbow colors adorn every surface, there are gay freebie magazines in the corner; kinky gingerbread men and cupcakes with booze! Oh, I do love the gays! In addition to baked goods for humans, you can see that they also offer Pupcakes - for their four-legged friends.
There was a playfulness about Cake & Art that I loved. There are at least 100 photographs on the wall of various celebrities that have stopped by for a cupcake or two in the past. I didn't snap a picture, but hey - Nick Lachey - keep dressing like that in W. Hollywood and we will all know why you and Jessica Simpson broke up! It wasn't because she is a dumbass!
Since I dragged (no pun intended) Mom to West Hollywood, I let her pick the cupcake. Generally, we tried to share when we visited different bakeries. However; there were definitely moments where we could not agree to share and there was more than one cupcake HAD to be purchased. Her choice was the Bailey's Irish Cream Cupcake. A chocolate cupcake with a Bailey's Buttercream. Mmmm....Bailey's! I love that they go beyond the same old flavors. I found that so many shops had the same choices. Go to Cake & Art for the variety if nothing else!
Like the sign on the door says...Cake & Art - Divas Always Welcome!
This place is worth a visit just to check out the neighborhood.
