Dessert First - Eau Claire, WI

Looks like our neighbor to the northwest, Eau Claire, beat the big city to the cupcake dream. I came across this site the other day and now I am trying to convince myself that a 4 hour drive is totally acceptable to visit a cupcake shop! I suppose it should come as no surprise that the owner is a California native.

That's What I Call a Boob Job!

Boobs Cupcakes Gift Boxed, originally uploaded by ConsumedbyCake.

Flickr user ConsumedbyCake posted a series of BOOB cupcakes. Yes, BOOBS! The caption is almost as good as the cakes themselves, "Who wouldn't want a dozen boobs?" Nicely played. LOL! If you are in the UK, be sure and pay their shop, Consumed By Cake, a visit!

DailyNews.com / BROOKLYN, NY // In a flurry of chocolate cream and crumby debris, the yoga teacher crammed her last cupcake - No. 17 - winning the contest, and defeating her closest competitor by just one of the sweet treats.

Ivy Bakery held its first cupcake-eating contest outside of the shop on 87th St. in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The five competitors were given five minutes to inhale as many chocolate cupcakes as possible. The winner took home $75 and dubious bragging rights.

Nancy Cummings, the first-place winner, said that her role as a yoga instructor gave her what it took to be the champion.

"I am disciplined and focused and I can digest them faster," said the slender 31-year-old brunette from Bay Ridge, who dipped each little chocolate cake into a glass of water before shoving it whole into her mouth.

Runner-up Dominick Ibelli, 35, gave Cummings a chocolate-smeared handshake and congratulated her on the victory. He then ate one more cupcake in a moment of second-place showmanship.

One failed competitor, though, wasn't eating any after-game cupcakes. After the contest, Jo Rose, 50, sat with his head bowed.

"I am feeling a little sick," the Bay Ridge writer said. "I gave it my best shot. But I am gonna hurl any moment."

Separated at Birth?

Is it just me, or did someone at Weight Watchers channel their Looney Tunes memories of Gossamer the Monster(right) for their new ad campaign(left)? Just wondering.

Gambling, Show Girls, The Rat Pack, and now...IronCupcake:LasVegas

Jackpot! We have another addition to our Family!

Our family is growing so quickly. Just last week I announced the addition of IronCupcake:Chicago and it sparked the birth of a couple more. The first, Las Vegas!

Our keeper of the LV cupcake is none other than Miss Holly - a caterer, baker and all around cool chick. We first met her back in February when she and her 'boob' birthday cupcake were featured right here at No One Puts Cupcake in the Corner. Should have known she would catch the IC bug. Keep an eye on her IC:LV site to learn about her plans for what could prove to be the flashiest of the IronCupcake:Local challenges!

I can not tell you how freakin' fun these events are. In just one year what started as a little smack-down between Chef Jeff and I has blossomed into an all around cupcake and cocktail extravaganza. If you are interested in launching one in your town, visit my ETSY shop for more details!

Stay tuned for our next City to be announced. Want a hint? All I can say is Spotted Dick Cupcake.

JC Visits My Old Stomping Grounds

Sun is Out, Ink is In!

WTF!?!?!?

Spring has sprung. The sun is coming out. I am thrilled to crack out my pasty white Wisconsin legs and to not have to hide MY cupcake tattoo that I got last spring (above) anymore. Which got me to thinking about what other sorts of cupcake tatts might be inked in the cupcake world. The answer is SO MANY I COULDN'T POSSIBLY BLOG THEM ALL! But here is a fun little mini-gallery of cuppie tattoos from the flickr FOOD TATTOOS pool. Pop over to the group to see sooooo many more.
