Cupcakers Rally For a Sweet Cause

On March 29th, the Cake Girls Bakery in Chicago's Roscoe Village suffered a debilitating fire. The owners of the bakery say they have 500 outstanding orders to fill. They also say they lost about $70,000 worth of baking and decorating equipment in the fire.

Tonight's IronCupcake:Chicago, COOKIE challenge, will be raising money that will be donated to Brenda and Mary Maher, the owners of Cake Girls. In true IronCupcake form, our sugar sisters from Bleeding Heart, Sugar Beez and Beautiful Cakes for rallying together to support the sweet family of bakeries. There is never enough, and the Roscoe Village neighborhood is a little less sweet without Cake Girls in it.

Tonight's event begins at 6 p.m. at Smash Cake, at 2961 North Lincoln Avenue.
