Fight hunger with your phone! Text the word FOOD to the number 52000 on your cell phone and you'll donate $10 to Hunger Task Force. $$$ charged to your cell phone bill.

2) Sit on someone's lap! Download the Santa's L'app app - it allow your kids to send pictures or movies directly to Santa's wishlist. 99¢/All proceeds from this app will be donated to the Toys for Tots. Parents, this application also saves the photos and video's taken in your photo's app for your use later.

3) Warm Yourself and Others. Attend the #warmhandswarmhearts tweet-up this Thursday, 12/2. Donate new or gently used gloves/hats/scarves and in return, get free tasty appetizers, awesome drink specials and bag full of goodies to call your own.

4) Shop & Eat Local. Spending your hard-earned dollars in Milwaukee generates 68% of the earnings back into the local economy! Hop on the the Holly Loop, Get groovy at Art vs. Craft, hit the streets of Brady or scoop up some 2011 City Tins (restaurant and staycation editions available 12/3).

When you get hungry, lots of local eateries have incentives for buying their gift cards. Gifts for loved ones, gift for yourself...or another loved one!
5) Sharing Christmas. MACC Fund celebtrates its 25th year of making a difference in the lives of children with cancer! Take a trip down Candy Cane Lane in West Allis and share the true spirit of the season. Bounded by Oklahoma and Montana Avenues and 92nd to 96th Street is transformed into a winter wonderland in December to benefit the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc.) Neighbors will join together to show the spirit of the holiday season during "Sharing Christmas.” (Nov. 26 – Dec. 27) The event is free, but visitors may leave a donation - lots of opportunities to meet local celebs, see site for a calendar.

6) Give Back to a Vet. Zablocki V.A. Hospital is hosting it's 22nd Annual Christmas Party for hospitalized Vets. They are seeking donations from food, games, paper, pens, warm weather wear and of course money to help support the event. (Donations needed by 12/10)

7) Toy Story! The Tweet-Up Girls and the IronHorse Hotel host the giant Toy Tweet-Up #MKETweetUp. Get free cocktail, wine or beer for toy donation. Tuesday, December 7th, 6-8 p.m.

BONUS) Christmas Classics. Holiday theater favorite productions for the family at bargain prices, brought to you by MilwaukeeConsumer.com.

  • The Milwaukee Repertory Theater is offering discounted tickets to the December 17th 7:00 P.M. performance of A Christmas Carol at the Pabst Theater. Discounted tickets can be purchased on The Rep’s website using discount code 13445, or can be purchased by calling 414-224-9490 and mentioning Carol Community Day.
  • The Milwaukee Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker is returning to the Marcus Center for 14 performances between December 11 and December 27, 2009. Milwaukee Consumers is offering its readers a 20% discount for tickets. The discount code is valid for all performances. Ticket prices range from $16 – $66 (prior to the discount).   • The Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring the Radio City Rockettes is coming to the US Cellular Arena. There is a special coupon code that will give you half price tickets.
