For those who do not know...Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple, start Movember 1st clean-shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. NYMag.com: Andrew DeMarchis and Kevin Graff, two well-behaved, recently bar mitzvah-ed 13-year-olds in the Westchester town of New Castle, were doing their part to pull America out of its recession. Instead of trying to get by on a weekly parental handout, they stimulated the economy by starting their own small business, a baked-goods stand in a local park. After the first day, DeMarchis and Graff made $120 and had already started to expand, investing in a new cart and adding beverage options to their offerings. By the end of the week, they might have hired four or five new employees and opened their first overseas franchise in China. But when town councilman Michael Wolfensohn happened upon the young entrepreneurs, he didn't praise them for their innovative, can-do spirit. He called the cops. The boys didn't have a permit."All vendors selling on town property have to have a license, whether it's boys selling baked goods or a hot-dog vendor," Wolfensohn explains. Indeed, it really wouldn't be fair if cute young kids could ignore the bureaucratic requirements that apply to adults who, after all, are trying to make a living. But calling the police? Couldn't he just inform the kids' parents or something? "In hindsight, maybe I should have done that, but I wasn't sure if I was allowed to do that," Wolfensohn now admits. What? Okay.
Though his approach was fairly tactless, Wolfensohn may have ultimately done DeMarchis and Graff a favor. They lost their jobs, but by getting shut down by the police, they must have gained an insane amount of street cred. What could be more valuable than a reputation as the new bad-asses at Seven Bridges Middle School? Right, Mrs. DeMarchis?

Classy Girl Cupcakes opened their doors to a crowd of cupcake lovers yesterday. Located in the former Christoph Coffee location in Catherdral Square, the Classy Girls gave the space a big, bright, dreamy cupcake makeover of warm magenta, purples and greens. They also added a gorgeous and HEAVY glass display case to showcase their goodies. The location is absolutely PERFECT. Just down the walk from Milwaukee favorite dining destinations Elsa's, Louise's and even Real Chili; they are also poised to make events like Jazz in the Park, Christmas Tree tours, Farm Market and Bastille Days even sweeter, with cupcakes!
But, the reason we have all been licking our lips is for the cupcakes, of course. Featuring their one-of-a-kind cheesecake cupcakes - available in SO MANY flavors. Just a few available yesterday were caramel apple, lemon cream, pumpkin spice, raspberry and more! I ended my day yesterday with the caramel apple and was pleasantly surprised by the little bits of fresh apple and the tasty cookie crust. I also love the little tasting spoons that come with the cheesecake cupcakes that make it possible to devour every last crumb!
They also whip up some pretty dreamy traditional cupcakes as well. Moist and delicious, I brought some to a meeting yesterday afternoon and one was scarfed up before we realized the eater had even picked that little sucker up!

Who doesn’t get kranky? And when you have two young, rambunctious boys you need to have a good attitude about…..everything! Sugar cookie decorating is a family tradition that has now continued on in my young family. After you’ve iced 20 angel cookies, however, it starts to get a little redundant. Taking inspiration from my youngest son’s preschool drawings the Kranky Kooky came to life. We loved Kranky from the first moment we saw his pouty frown.
