To know me is to love me...especially when it comes to the slightly creepy, yet still endearing things of our childhood. I love doll heads. I love Day of the Dead. I love black cats. I love devils, as long as they are kind of cute, too. Naturally, with that in mind, it would make perfect sense that I love Halloween decor. I'm not talking about that stuff that people do to turn their property into a graveyard, or door decorations that scream at you when you get home from work. Just groovy little bits to integrate into your daily life.
NOT cute.
cute.
My house will go without a spec of holiday decoration all year...until Halloween comes around. I don't have a ton, but what I do have just makes me smile. I have not bought anything this year, but here are a few things that would pique my interests for sure...
For real? Who WOULDN'T want to scoop out some strawberry-spinach salad with some boney fingers...hell, I would use these all year long! 19.99/pair at World Market.
In. Love. with these candles. I just wish they were bigger. Those spiral eyes and just calling to be in my place. A little retro, a little spooky and totally cute! 4.99/each, also from World Market.
Back in the day (read 2 years ago), when I kept all kinds of cool crap at my desk at work, you could be sure that I would pick these little guys up. Seriously? Little skeletons prancing across your outline for your next big project, makes perfect sense to me! $4/each at Pier 1 Imports.
Hey, they are the Pink Flamingos of the fall season. We had one of these when I was growing up. It lit up. I loved it. Now many years later, I really want a couple to put on my balcony to stare out at the town below. Who knew that to properly google them, you needed to know the term BLOW MOLDING? Well, you do and now I know when I start yearning for a Frosty the Snowman come Christmas time. $33.74/amazon.com.
