Google Chrome is a popular platform browser with high functionality. The browser is the most popular browser in the world, so a huge number of viruses are directed in particular at the impact of Google Chrome. In turn, the creators of Google Chrome in vain do not waste time and regularly publish browser updates that not only eliminate security flaws, but also introduce new features.
Download an available Chrome update on your computer
Typically, the browser updates in the background when you close and reopen it. However, if you do not close it for some time, you may notice a pending update:
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- In the upper right corner look at the More More icon.
- If you have a pending update, the icon will have one of these colors:
- Green: The update has been available for less than two days.
- Orange: An update has been available for about four days.
- Red: The update has been available for at least a week.
To update Google Chrome:
- Open Chrome on your computer.
- In the upper right corner, click More More.
- Click Update Google Chrome.
The browser will save the open tabs and windows, and when it starts again, it will automatically open them. If you do not want to restart the browser immediately, click Not now. The update will be applied the next time you start Chrome.
On an Android device
Chrome should update automatically according to the Play Store settings. To check if a new version is available:
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Play Store app.
- In the upper left corner click Menu Menu And then My games and applications.
- In the “Updates” section, find Chrome Chrome.
- Next to Chrome, click Update.
For iPhone or iPad
The Chrome browser should update automatically according to the Apple App Store settings. To check if a new version is available:
- On the iPhone or iPad, open the App Store.
- In the upper right corner, click Profile Profile.
- Scroll down to the “Available updates” section and find Chrome Chrome.
- If Chrome is listed, click Upgrade to install the update.
- If you’re prompted to enter the password associated with your Apple ID, enter it. Updates will be downloaded and installed.
Chrome Synchronization
Synchronization is a very useful option – it allows you to automatically save information to your Google account. Once enabled, you can view and edit synced data – such as bookmarks, history and passwords – on all your devices. In many Google services, e.g. in Gmail, YouTube and search engine, logging in is automatic. If you enable synchronization as a logged in user, you will not be logged out. If you change the device (e.g. when you lose your phone or buy a new laptop), you can easily recover your synchronized data.
How to do it?
You must have a Google account to enable synchronization.
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- In the upper right corner, click Profile Profile.
- Log in to your Google account.
- If you want to sync data on all your devices, click Turn on sync and then Turn on.
